Mohamed Salah: The News All Liverpool Fans Have Been Waiting For
Elation around Anfield, Momahed Salah has penned a new long-term deal with Liverpool; the Egyptian King will run rampant at Anfield until 2025. The only question to be asked… What took them so long?
The record many were not sure Liverpool were going to break, was making Salah the best-paid player in the club’s history. After signing a contract extension of three years for the Scousers’ club, the play will now receive £350k per week.
The Salah and Liverpool Standoff Is Finally Over, All Eyes on the Pitch Now
Every Reds fan is happy that one of their biggest contract sagas is behind them. There was concern around Anfield that they could lose both their superstars, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
Not during the same summer, yes, but in close succession of each other’s departure. This would have seen them lose a combined 208 Premier League goals.
Quite frankly, the decision made by Sadio Mane to leave for Bayern Munich could have made the contract extension talks a lot smoother, with the club’s owners now able to table a better deal for the Egyptian.
Instead of having to offer two of them a £350k salary each, they sell one and offer the other the money he wants. But did they make the right choice? Yes, they have. Why though?
Salah Always Fighting for Top Honours
The three-time Golden Boot winner stays in the mix with the top honours and is always breaking records and setting them. If he can improve on what was more than an impressive campaign last run out, Salah will only achieve greater things individually and with the club.
Adding even more logic to the deal to allow Mane to leave rather than Salah, the inclusion of Luis Diaz, who acts as a like-for-like transfer for Sadio Mane. He takes over from Senegal’s top scorer on the left while Salah keeps his place on the right wing and the Darwin Nunez takes up the number 9 role.
Salah has always expressed a desire to stay at the club but at the same time felt he was worth a lot more than what he was earning and what they had offered at first, especially with the work he puts in at training and the numbers he puts on the board.
Jurgen Klopp Was Always in Talks During the Decision Making

Of course, Jurgen Klopp had a part to play in making his star attacker stay. Some of the club’s best buys and investments have come through Klopp and as long as he is at the club they will continue to fight for top accolades and now apparently, hold onto their best players at the club.
There can be no debate that Salah got the Philippe Coutinho speech: “stay and they will build a statue of you!” And rightly so if he continues to deliver the goods at Anfield and abroad. His 155 goals and 57 assists in 250 appearances for the Reds are second to none and one of the best goals to games ratios out there.
This was also great timing by Liverpool, as there will be little to no distractions and they can now concentrate on trying to beat Manchester City to the title and others to the crown in the Champions League.
