The Reds ended the 2018/2019 season in similar heartache as they did in their most recent run, missing out by just one point to title-rivals, Manchester City.

After enduring such pain the Reds bounced back even stronger and from the offset, making sure they leave nothing to chance for the Premier League title the season after, they won almost every team twice that season.

Every game was played like a final and every outing was seen as a must-win. During this run, an instant where Mane stood out above all else. He put his body on the line to make sure they took all the points home. A boot to the face but he still managed to get the deftest of touches to perfectly head the ball away for the winning goal.

Liverpool were down at first, then levelled through Andrew Robertson, and then Mane, who put in a Man of the Match performance, deservingly scored the go-ahead goal in injury time to win 1-2 at Villa Park.

This one moment in the league run proved it was their year to end the Premier League title drought.
