Manchester City’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak claims they are far from done in the transfer market, with them looking at bringing in more new faces before the summer window closes.

It could be an exciting summer transfer window for Manchester City fans; well, the couple of 100s who were by their Premier League title-winning parade. Despite making big moves for Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund and Julian Alvarez from River Plate, more will follow through the door at the Etihad Campus.

Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak on Transfers This Summer:

"I can confirm that there will be more players coming in this summer. We’ve in Haaland the best number 9 in the world – Julián Álvarez, one of the most talented strikers in South America and there will be more signings."

Man City announced last week that Haaland is set to join Pep Guardiola’s ranks from the 1st of July for a reported fee of £51m while Alvarez will return from his loan spell with River Plate; and according to Pep and the club’s hierarchy, they will not be sending him out on loan again as they view him as an important part of the squad moving forward.

They were fast to his transfer, making sure they tie him down before any competition comes in and raise his transfer fee in a transfer battle. They completed his signing for £14.1 million and have him bound to a five-and-a-half-year contract.

Manchester City Transfer Rumours and Stories

With Erling Haaland finally plugging the hole left by Sergio Aguero, there is another one more to be filled following the departure of club captain Fernandinho. His presence was big in the heart of midfield and when needed at the back part of the centre-back pairing.

With that said; the Manchester club have been recently linked with a move for Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips. Two months ago The Top Flight reported that the English midfielder is willing to sign a new long-term deal and that he was more than happy to stay with his boyhood club.

But that has now changed with the Elland Road outfit trying frantically to find a solution to his contract situation with them. City will face competition from their neighbours, Manchester United, who have been linked with the player since January.

Brighton full-back Marc Cucurella has also been linked with a move to the Etihad; the Premier League side will be “testing the waters with a £30m bid”. The report further states their intent to move full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko on during the summer, increasing the possibility of a transfer.

West Ham’s Declan Rice has come up in the past but the £150m price tag slapped on him by the East London club will force them to turn their attention elsewhere. Having made the most expensive EPL signing last season in Jack Grealish, they will not want to break the bank again.

Replacing the departing Fernandinho will take priority now that replacements have been identified and captured for Ferran Torres and Kun Aguero. If the likes of Raheem Sterling or others leave before the window closes, City will do more business, we can be sure of it.
