It comes as a surprise that Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp has received Premier League Manager of the Season. However, one of the two between him and his title rival Pep Guardiola are worthy candidates for the accolade.
First and foremost, one has to say thank you to Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp for keeping up with the oil-rich Manchester City since the arrival of the German. Last season, when the Reds fell off the rails extremely early in what was supposed to be their title-defending campaign, no other teams were willing to steal the thrown from the two of them, Pep and Klopp.

Secondly: congratulations to the man that has transformed Anfield into a relentless monster in the modern era of football. A place frowned upon when away teams must visit. A place now regarded as one of the most formidable venues in European football.
Thirdly, unlucky to Klopp and the boys for falling just short of an English treble by single a point. Right up until the final day of Premier League action, the longest run in history by an English club, the quadruple was still alive for Liverpool.
Now they must lick their wounds and prep for their third and last cup final of the season: the Champions League Final.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool unmoved in 2022
Following a loss two days before the end of 2021 where the Reds lost 1-0 to Leicester City, Liverpool embarked on a run that was out of this world, only dropping points in three games; these outings were not losses but draws.
From the start of 2022, Liverpool collected 48 points from the 57 available to them, losing out only on nine points. No other club in the Premier League matched this or bettered it.
Included in this run was their longest winning streak of the season; they won 12 games back-to-back across all competitions before succumbing to a 1-0 loss to Inter Milan in the Champions League second leg; they did however advance and now have a UCL showdown with Real Madrid in Paris.
The manager recently just signed a new deal with the club, which many across the game believe to be Liverpool’s best signing in recent times. As long as he is at Anfield’s helm, they will continue to be in the conversation and play for top honours.
