It looks as though Chelsea are resigned to losing star defender, Andreas Christensen, as reports say he has agreed a deal to join Barcelona upon the expiry of his contract this summer.
Club President Joan Laporte confirmed the Catalan club had signed two players, but would not name them.
"We’ve completed two signings for the next season,” he said.Speaking to Catalan radio station Rac1, Laporta added: “One is a midfielder, the other one is a centre-back. But I’m not allowed to mention their names.”"
Denmark international Christensen has made 156 appearances since joining the club in 2012, as a 16-year-old from Swedish side Brondby.
Chelsea are currently unable to offer out-of-contract players new deals, with the club currently under sanctions from the UK Government, after the club was seized due to former owner Roman Abramovich’s links to Vladimir Putin and the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
Players who have six months left on their deal, have been able to speak to foreign-based clubs since January.
Blue’s boss Thomas Tuchel, had hoped to keep Christensen, but the player now look’s set to head to Spain instead, with Chelsea’s situation remaining unresolved.
Report’s also say that Barcelona are targeting another Chelsea defender, this time, club captain Cesar Azpilicueta. The Spain international was also due to be out of contract in the summer, but has triggered an extension clause in his contract, due to number of appearances, which leaves him with one year left on his deal.
Christensen could be one of many high profile losses for Chelsea.
