Adama Traore: Wolves ready to listen to offers during January for explosive winger
Wolves are said to be willing to offload more than one of their regular first-team players; of those players facing an exit Adama Traore’s name has been included to the list, setting off interest from other Premier League clubs and across Europe.
Despite a managerial change from Nuno Espirito Santo to Bruno Lage before the new campaign got underway, the story remains the same for attacker Adama Traore; he and the club have struggled for over two years to strike a new deal with his current contract set to expire soon.
Due to them being unable to meet on terms with Spaniard, the club will seek their next best option which is a January sale — this sale has set off alarm bells all over Europe with teams such as Barcelona interested in bringing him back to his hometown, while Valencia are also ready to get back to the motherland.
"Wolves are ready to sell Adama Traore in the January transfer window as talks over a new deal continue to stall, and 90min understands that Barcelona could rival Liverpool for his signature. The 25-year-old has been in talks over a signing a new contract at Molineux in recent weeks, but the two sides are not close to striking a deal.Traore and Wolves first opened negotiations over a fresh contract in 2019 – but they broke down and that saw him feature less under then-boss Nuno Espirito Santo."
The Catalans are in optimistic mode after appointing legendary midfielder Xavi as the new manager of the club. With the installment of a new boss, fresh ideas and new players will be needed to implement what the new man wants on the pitch.
"90min also understands that Barcelona have emerged as suitors to bring Traore back to his hometown and where he started his career.Xavi is looking to bring in a winger in January and Barcelona have already been linked with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic and Dani Olmo, and we can confirm Traore has also been a name discussed at Camp Nou. Teams from the Premier League interested in Wolves’ Adama Traore
There are three clubs ready to snatch Traore up from the Wanderers because they understand he will come at a cut-price, with the club initially evaluating him for a high total of £80m after his stellar EPL showings.
The clubs in mention: Leeds United, Liverpool, and Tottenham, all these clubs have their respective reasons for wanting Adama Traore — but whatever is — it doesn’t matter and will have the Wolves happier to sell as it will create a bidding war.
Leeds United embracing for a Raphinha exit
The Whites are on the hunt for a Raphinha replacement with the Brazillian’s exit from Elland Road a matter of when and not if, with many top clubs wanting his signature.
Marcelo Bielsa will want to replace Raphinha, arguably their best attacking player this season with five goals in 10 games played, with a like-for-like player and Traore fits the bill to the T.
Liverpool looking to reinforce their bench with an Adama Traore transfer
The Reds have been needing to replenish their bench for the past two transfer windows and the Wolves winger has always been a big target for them with Jurgen Klopp a big admirer of him.
The stumbling block here is they are more than keen on bringing him to Anfield but they are not willing to meet the demands of the £40m the Wanderers are asking for him and will go no higher than their evaluation of £30m.
Tottenham, new manager, new methods, new players needed
Like it is for Barcelona over in La Liga so is it for Spurs under the new boss Antonio Conte. They will be in for a host of new names as Daniel Levy will look to back his new manager and Adama Traore meets the criteria of what Conte looks for in a winger.
He will not be first on the list of possible wingers/attackers that Conte will want at the club but they will certainly not hesitate to grab him for the right price. They were ready back in the summer for a late swoop but any deal fell apart.
Adama Traore’s contribution this season has been zero goals and assists, but his performances have been up there with some of the best we’ve seen — but he is missing an end product — something he could develop with a move away from the Molineux.
