#2 Mohamed Salah v Manchester United (A)

Many may be surprised that Salah is not at #1 this week, considering his exquisite form over the first 8 games. United will be heading into this weekend’s clash against Liverpool full of confidence after coming back and winning from 2-0 down at halftime against Atalanta in the Champions League.

Not only this but Liverpool and Manchester United have a history of cagey affairs against one another. In their last 5 league meetings, two of the games ended 0-0, and two of the other games only had 2 goals scored in them. This may be an indication that Salah’s ceiling isn’t as high as many are expecting this week.

Despite being at #2, Salah is still one of the best captaincy options. Even with an unideal fixture this week, Salah has the form to deliver. We also know that Salah is guaranteed to start, and has penalties in his locker. A definite safe pick this week.
