Pau Torres – Villarreal

The most obvious and infamous choice United can consider is Villarreal’s Pau Torres. The 24-year-old centre-half was a revelation for his team last season as they beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men in the UEFA Europa League final.

Torres completed his 2020/21 La Liga season with a passing accuracy of almost 88%, highlighting how comfortable he is with the ball at his feet.

His arrival at Manchester United could potentially boost Victor Lindelof’s form as the Swedish centre-back is often found guilty of committing needless errors.

Torres’ presence will not only add competition within the rank, but it will also give Solskjaer an option of having a left-footed and right-footed centre-back pairing in Torres and Harry Maguire.

The scheme worked wonders for Luke Shaw following Alex Telles’ arrival, and Lindelof might benefit from it as well.
