Premier League: Fulham, West Brom and Sheffield United’s MVPs for the season
Aaron Ramsdale – Sheffield United
After a very good showing in the 2019/2020 campaign and finishing in 9th place, Sheffield struggled to replicate this form and will now play Championship football.
The poorest of them all were the Blades with no football illustrated and no clear idea of a good system. Sheffield struggled a lot and they got relegated back in April already.
Even though they were placed last in the standings and conceded the fourth-highest number of goals with 63 conceded, their keeper was their biggest star.
I know it sounds weird to say that the stopper of the team sitting at the very bottom of the table is their best player, but what Ramsdale did this season for Sheffield was amazing. It could have ended up a lot worse without him in between the sticks.
Ramsdale had the second-highest number of saves in the EPL with 147 saves made. Sheffield’s defense was poor this year which required Ramsdale to perform at an outstanding level.
This amazing performance from the English goalkeeper got him an England national team call-up in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad for Euros.
This performance from the 22-year-old keeper would probably draw attention from big clubs in The Top Flight.
