Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

Even though Tottenham had many brilliant individual performances, it was one of their worst seasons lately.

We decided to give the MVP award to Harry Kane; he was the Golden Boot and Playmaker of the season with his 23 goals and 14 assists.

This was Harry Kane’s best season regarding goals and assists. He participated in a total of 37 goals which is his highest in his career.

With this in mind, it is weird to think that the team who has the league’s top scorer and playmaker did not even secure a spot in the Champions League for next season.

Tottenham finished 7th and will have to go through Europa League qualifications. The Spurs had a brilliant start to the season but were not consistent enough throughout, leading to Jose Mourinho’s sacking in April.

There are strong rumors that this was the last season of Harry Kane at Tottenham with nothing truly confirmed if he will leave or not.

The striker still hasn’t been able to win any trophies with the North London club. This alongside their bad performance this season, are the reasons for Harry Kane’s departure if/when he leaves.

Honorable Mention – Heung-Min Son

As we mentioned the brilliant season of Kane, we also have to mention players like Heung-Min Son and Pierre Højbjerg.

Son scored 17 goals and assisted 10 and was Harry Kane’s partner in attack. He won the Player of the Month award for the Month of October. This was Son’s best goal-contributing season of his career.

Højbjerg was one of the most important midfielders for Jose Mourinho. The Danish player was one of the first signings under Mourinho and was incredibly good from the first game.

He was the balance in the team. He played all 38 games, adding a total of 3420 minutes, tied with the staring goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris. He completed 88.9% of his passes.

The defensive midfielder, Højbjerg, scored two goals and collected four assists but his presence on the field is what kept Tottenham together.
