Riyad Mahrez has finally found himself at Manchester City. Before this season, he played well, but he was left out of the starting lineup sometimes because of Manchester City’s incredible depth out wide. Now, sometimes he’s too good to be left out. The depth has decreased too.

Mahrez is now a regular for City; especially in big games. He doesn’t play every single game of course, he has sat out the last three, but he’s among the first ones on the teamsheet in important games.

He just knows how to perform well, you know? He just knows what to do.

Anyway, the other day, he was asked about his future.

What did the Manchester City star say about his future?

More from Manchester City

Talking to RMC Sport, he said that he feels very good in Manchester, and that there’s no desire to look at other clubs for potential transfers. Manchester City is the club he wants to be at.

The winger stated that he wants to end his career there, and that honestly is something which Manchester City fans would be glad to hear.

Mahrez has been one of City’s best players in 2021, and he looks to build on that for the remainder of the season and in general his time at Manchester City.

In the first half of this season, he wasn’t really doing very well, and when he was, it wasn’t consistent enough. But, towards the latter stages, something changed. It’s almost as if he flipped the switch, if you will.

Mahrez is 30 years old now. He probably has about two to three more years at the top level, so he would want to make the most out of those. Doing that under a manager like Pep Guardiola obviously helps a lot.

Pep’s quite frankly the best coach in the world right now, and he is known for developing and perfecting a player’s playing style. He knows how to bring the best out of most of his players, and Mahrez has become one of the best ones he has in this stacked Manchester City team.

The Algerian scored goals in the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League. That’s what he would be looking to do as Manchester City play Chelsea in the final of the European competition at the end of May.

Mahrez is great, and staying at Manchester City is the right decision for all parties involved, if you ask me.
