One could ask? Why Foden or Mahrez before Sterling?

Sterling has been Manchester City’s star since he came to the Blues in 2015 from Liverpool for Manchester City’s.

His level has sadly downgraded somewhat and Foden and Mahrez took the opportunity with both hands.

Mahrez, finally reached his form from his Leicester City days when he was one of the best players of that Premier League Champions team alongside Jamie Vardy.

This recent form of Mahrez is what gave him a spot in the starting XI.

Also, Foden has been known to be one of the gems of Guardiola since he started getting more and more minutes on the pitch at a very young age.

He is a player who Guardiola loves to use starting or coming on from the bench to impact the game, which he does almost perfectly each time.

Foden has answered on the field, scoring important goals and having a telepathic understanding well with Mahrez and De Bruyne.

Even though Sterling is one of the best, the competition inside the club is extremely stiff and there are many players in his position who wants to make the starting XI.
