A Ronaldo-Manchester United reunion could be on the cards
Cristiano Ronaldo cemented his spot as a Premier League icon during his six-year stay at Manchester United — the club where he truly started to develop and turn into the superstar that he is today. He won a Champions League title, _ Premier League titles and his first Ballon d’Or at the Theatre of Dreams, and then clinched a move to Real Madrid at age 23. The rest is history.
But his three-year stay at Juventus since leaving Real Madrid has been sort of rough, you could say. Although they have won the Scudetto in two of those three seasons (this being the third season), stuff just hasn’t gone their way in the Champions League — the competition that Ronaldo has won five times in his illustrious career.
This season, they have struggled a lot in two of their three major competitions. They are currently 4th in Serie A and got knocked out of the Champions League in the Round-of-16 by Porto. To say things haven’t really gone well would be an understatement. To be fair, they can still win a title. They’re in the final of Coppa Italia, facing Atalanta.
This is why Ronaldo has come to a realization. Well, reportedly, anyway. According to Tuttosport, Ronaldo will consider a move to either Manchester United or PSG if Juventus fail to qualify for the Champions League next season. This means that if these reports are to be true, then a reunion might be on the cards.
Would it make sense for Ronaldo to join Manchester United? What about PSG?
Let’s talk about Manchester United first. Does it make sense from a financial standpoint? Maybe, maybe not, but from a standpoint of making sure that they go to the next level, yes, definitely.
Even if you think about it for a single season, or maybe two seasons, it makes a lot of sense. It gives this fairly young Manchester United side a lot of insight about how to play and stay composed during big games. They already know how to be clutch, so that’s a plus point in itself!
They also look for a striker, again, reportedly, since Cavani might be interested in joining Boca Juniors next season, and Anthony Martial has been a shadow of himself this season.

Anyway, he also has the much-needed experience of playing in the latter stages of the Champions League. He gives them a vocal leader and a leader by example in one, and that’s really one of the things that Manchester United would love to have.
If we look at the other club, PSG, it makes sense to an extent but it also doesn’t. PSG have so much talent and firepower in the attack that they don’t really need Ronaldo. By that, I don’t mean they won’t improve. They will, it’s Ronaldo! But, they don’t necessarily have to take that risk and give that much money to a player in his late 30s when you already have Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and other young players in the team.
Also, speaking of, the three of them at the same club could cause ego clashes.
One more thing to note would be learning a new language, and living in a completely new country, adapting to a brand new culture could be challenging. But, on a more positive note, they can be absolutely terrifying to play against. Imagine coming up against Ronaldo Neymar AND Kylian Mbappe. That’s not a good sight.
But, it doesn’t make that much sense simply because the thing that they would want to buy him for is attainable even without him. Yes, I’m talking about the trophy with the big ears.
So, to conclude this, I’d say this: If Ronaldo were to leave, it would make much more sense for him to go back to England. It gives the fans a “One Last Dance” type of vibe, and it gives the team what it needs. He’s already familiar with the culture and the language.
It all depends on Juventus now. Will they qualify for the Champions League and buy necessary players that could upgrade the team, and compete in the competitions in a better way? Or will they lose out on their biggest asset?
