Manchester United have had a good season. They’re favourites to win the Europa League this season and are second in the Premier League table. But, to walk that extra mile, they need enforcements in some areas of the pitch. Don’t get me wrong, they have some very good players, but the club knows there are positions that can be upgraded and make the team a lot better.

With this being said, Express has reported something very interesting for Manchester United fans. According to the report, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the Glazers to bid on three top players in the upcoming summer transfer window. Those three players are Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Each of these three players contains bucketloads of talent, and they are immediate upgrades to this United team. If the Red Devils are to somehow get ALL these three players, then the Premier League title is automatically within reach. It won’t be easy, but it would be a lot better and a lot more achievable.

Can Manchester United actually land all three players? How do they help the team?

There have been other reports about Varane potentially choosing Manchester United as an option in the coming seasons, given his contract situation at Real Madrid. Haaland, on the other hand, even though he has been a target for the longest time, Dortmund’s director has said that Haaland will stay at Dortmund next season, for sure. Jack Grealish was one of the options that Manchester United were looking at in the past, and to see them come back to him now makes sense. They don’t want to miss out on another great player.

Now, onto the realistic side of things. Do I think Manchester United will actually be able to pull these three transfers off? I don’t. But, football has surprised me before. Transfers have surprised me before. So, I’m not saying it’s impossible. But, it does look unlikely.

More from Manchester United

Well, for the sake of the article and the topic, let’s be optimistic for a second. Let’s actually see how they make this team better! First off, we have Raphael Varane who is an automatic upgrade on Victor Lindelof. Lindelof is a good centre-back and has had a decent season for Manchester United. But, Varane has been one of the best centre backs in the world for quite some time now. You can’t really compare the two.

Looking at Haaland, I mean, you don’t really have to think about this one that much. He’s just 20 years old and has already shown the world what he can do, and how he does it when he wants to. Edinson Cavani is also rumoured to consider Boca Juniors as an option next season, and Anthony Martial hasn’t really had the best season ever. Even if all this didn’t happen, the move would make perfect sense.

Grealish, finally, is a creative hub. He attracts bodies, and his close control makes it so difficult to dispossess him. He’s an underrated passer and can create something out of nothing. It’s always a joy to watch that man play football. It’s less of a positional need and more of an upgrade on the attack in general, regardless of where he plays.

So, yes, as I said, it’ll be very difficult for Manchester United to pull these transfers off. But never say never. Besides, if there’s one club in the whole league with that much pull, it’s probably Manchester United.
