FPL Captain Pick #1 Mohamed Salah vs Newcastle (H)

Jürgen Klopp has been rotating one player from his ‘Fab Four’ in each of the last few games, Salah was the casualty last time around against Leeds although he could easily have scored off the bench.

The rest he got last week should mean that the Egyptian will be raring to go for this game and should start while most likely getting 90 minutes after Liverpool’s exit from the UEFA Champions League.

The race for the Premier League Golden Boot is also heating up with Harry Kane having scored a brace vs Everton before getting injured.

Despite the Magpies’ renewed vigour in attack, the fixture against Newcastle remains a great fixture to target for captaincy.

As mentioned last week, Salah’s underlying stats are pointing towards a big haul very soon but he needs to take his chances. It’s the same this game week and he won’t get many better opportunities to get that double-digit haul that has eluded his owners for a while now.

I don’t think much of an explanation is needed to justify this pick as it is a top player coming up against one of the leakiest defences at home.
