FPL Captain Pick #3 Mohamed Salah vs Leeds (A)

If you captained Mo Salah in GW1 vs Leeds, your FPL season would have got off to a flying start in all likelihood as the Egyptian bagged a staggering 20 points after grabbing a hat-trick in a thrilling 4-3 win over Leeds at Anfield.

Leeds have been a fixture to captain for target all season, although it was looking like their defence was showing clear signs of improvement with the Cooper-Llorente centre-back pairing.

The red card to Leeds’ captain Liam Cooper will once again unsettle their backline. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar scoreline to the one we saw at Anfield earlier in the season.

Even after going a man down against Man City, Leeds did not give up and were willing to take the game to the opposition, they only know one way to approach a game and that is to attack, which should make for an exciting game where you can expect many goals.

Salah was on the scoresheet in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa, however, it could have been a lot more had he tucked away a simple chance that he got in the first half, the type of chance that he usually puts away with ease.

Most underlying stats point towards a Salah haul soon but he will have to take his chances.
