FPL Captain Pick #5 Jesse Lingard vs Newcastle (A)

I honestly never expected that I would be considering Jesse Lingard as a viable FPL asset this season, let alone mention him as a legitimate captaincy option.

He is a man full of confidence at the moment and looks almost unplayable.

There has been much debate about him and his underlying stats but he has kept defying them.

With three double-digit hauls in his last three games, he clearly has the fixture to make it four out of four against a Newcastle side who are still struggling defensively, making it a good fixture for attackers.

West Brom and Fulham are trying to put up a late fight which makes it important for Newcastle to win their games to be clear of the relegation zone.

With Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin back, coupled with Declan Rice, Michail Antonio and possibly even Aaron Cresswell missing for West Ham, there is a very good chance that the Magpies will try to go all out for a win here.

Meanwhile, West Ham also have to keep winning to stay in the Top 4 which could result in a thrilling game full of goals.

The Hammers have scored 3 goals in each of their last 3 games with high involvement from Lingard. It will be no surprise if he is among the points once again.
