#2) Manchester United have other departments to fill in

Manchester United failed to sign Sancho after they chased him the whole of last summer. They have multiple positions elsewhere to fill with a small budget. Haaland can be a costly affair.

Of late, the manager has failed to address the chinks in his armor. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is consistently playing Fred and Scott McTominay who have failed to live up to the hype in crucial games.

Moreover, the failure of Fred to put disciplined performances in the games against PSG (Champions League Leipzig loss) and Leicester City (FA Cup loss) have raised questions about his spot in the starting line-up. Also, the aging Nemanja Matic has to be replaced.

Included with these midfield problems, Paul Pogba is expected to depart in the upcoming months despite contract talks said to be ongoing.

Solskjaer will look to address this situation as soon as possible, giving him and the board an idea of what they working with during the transfer window.

There has been a lot of questions raised about the center-back duo of Lindelof and Harry Maguire. They have been shaky and have never looked confident.

The club is rumored to want to sign Pau Torres and Jules Kounde from the Spanish La Liga. They won’t come cheap and have to shell out huge funds for the pair.

Signing Haaland would spoil the club’s transfer strategies which has been working better of late.
