Enough is enough it seems for the midfielder who was once a Real Madrid target. Donny van de Beek is ready and eager to hold crunch talks with Ed Woodward and the Manchester United board.

Who is Donny van de Beek? He is that guy who Manchester United purchased from Ajax Amsterdam in a £35million deal last summer.

Since making his move from the Netherlands number one league to England’s top flight, he has mostly been pulling splinters out of his backside – having started only two of United’s 29 Premier League games.

His 13 features in the EPL, which include his two starts, amounts to 322 minutes of football. This was not down to a number of setbacks but only because nobody could have predicted a Paul Pogba revival at the Theatre of Dream.

More from Manchester United

No, in fact, one of the reasons for the inclusion of the Dutchman last summer was because of the fear they would lose one of the star midfielders in Pogba.

This stems from the uncountable numbers of interactions, flirting, and continuous links to his old club Juventus and his dream club Real Madrid – but while all of this was going on, he kept his head down and did his talking with his performances on the pitch.

Now, this has had a negative knock-on effect on Donny van de Beek and has him questioning his time at Old Trafford… Should he give Old Trafford one more go or should the summer be the time to move on?

The player, as per reports, wants to take the opportunity to move abroad as he is finding it difficult to hold onto a starting place ahead of Bruno Fernandes, Pogba, Fred, and Scott McTominay in the middle of the park.

Donny’s real chance to impress could only come in his second season if he chooses to stay

If the Dutch midfielder leaves Manchester United it could be seen as a bit premature.

With Pogba’s future up in the air at the Manchester club and if one of the two suitors come knocking for him in the summer, a spot will open up for Donny.

The talks between DVB and Woodward is only set to take place closer to the end of the season.

He was out injured for some weeks and unavailable for team selection, so he has had some time to think about his discouraging situation.

The Red Devils have welcomed back the trio of van de Beek, Paul and Edinson Cavani from their respective injuries. He will be hoping he will be included in their important Europa League clash against AC Milan on Thursday night.
