Tottenham: Gareth Bale provides enough to show Jose he should be starting
Gareth Bale showing exactly why he is one of the world’s best. Jose Mourinho would be silly not to play him a lot more when fit. He helped Tottenham stay ahead of their North London rivals after Matchday 26.
Spurs gave the Clarets no chance of winning the tie, stealing a point, or even coming back into the game. A 4-0 win over Sean Dyche’s men keeps their European hopes alive, as well as an outside chance of making the top four.
A double from Bale and goals from Harry Kane and Lucas Moura were enough to see them stay in eighth place ahead of Arsenal, who added additional pressure with their win over Leicester City. They now sit six points behind West Ham who are in final Champions Leauge spot.

Gareth Bale has been the man for Jose Mourinho in a difficult time when results haven’t been going their way. Before Spurs took on Burnley they were two games without a win and only collected three points from the 18 points played for.
This brought Mourinho’s position into question with rumours spreading that Jose might not make it as Spurs’ manager till the end of the season. Thankfully the last two wins, one in the Europa League and one in the Premier League, has him safe in his job for now.
Gareth Bale is a top player that should be playing more
The Walse captain scored a brace in his first Premier League start since the Brighton loss last month, January.
Between then and their 4-0 victory over Burnley, Bale has scored four goals and has two assists. Besides his goal contribution of six for the team, they haven’t lost when he has scored.
This further displays the importance of a player of his calibre and what he can offer to a team that hasn’t won anything in a decade.
The ex-Madrid player needs to be playing more often when he is fit and actually should not be left out of selection unless he is out injured.
He offers an extra outlet and is a prolific finisher compared to Steven Bergwijn, who has been picked ahead of him in previous fixtures by Jose Mourinh.
