Pedro Neto’s career has grown by leaps and bounds in recent months. Wolves producing yet another young, talented forward for the Premier League.
The 20-year old Portuguese winger has very quickly gone from being a young prospect to becoming one of the key players for Wolves first-team under Nuno Espirito Santo, earning a well-deserved call-up to the Portuguese National Team in the process.
After a brilliant season in 2019/20 which saw the side from West Midlands finish 7th in the Premier League for the second year in a row, a lot has been said about Wolves this season, many unimpressed with their seemingly underwhelming style of football.
While it is understandable that more is expected from Nuno’s side, it is quite clear to see that they have missed the services of their talismanic striker Raúl Jiménez, who was a crucial factor in their success in recent years.
Wolves were more than just a one-man team but Jiménez was one of the major factors in their success and with Diogo Jota having already left for Liverpool, someone had to step in to fill that void.
The stage was set for Pedro Neto to seize this opportunity and he did exactly that.

Pedro Neto has 5 goals and 4 assists to his name in 25 Premier League appearances this season, having already better his tally of 3 goals and 3 assists from last season. The pacy winger has been a menace for opposition defenders.
He has a wand of a left foot and loves cutting inside which makes it extremely difficult and unpredictable for anyone trying to stop him.
He is a phenomenal dribbler who is seemingly getting better and showing no signs of stopping.
In a season where Wolves have been far from potent offensively, Neto has been a shining light who has continuously caught the eye.
It is quite incredible that despite these displays, Neto has gone under the radar compared to some of the other exciting talents in the country.
If he keeps these performances up, it will only be a matter of time before big clubs come calling and there’s not much that Wolves would be able to do in that positions, as we saw with Jota at the start of the season.
Wolves have a gem on their hands, they have to enjoy the brilliance while it lasts because a step-up for Neto seems a question of ‘when’ and not ‘if’.
