The victory against Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton on Saturday has given the required impetus for Newcastle United to survive the relegation threat for a while at least.

Before the gameweek started, Newcastle United were just six points clear of the bottom three but now, they sit eight points clear.

Though the club hasn’t added any significant player to their team, they are set to depart ways with DeAndre Yedlin.

According to recent reports, the US international looks poised to join Galatasaray on deadline day of the winter transfer window.

The transfer news specialist, Fabrizio Romano tweeted:

"DeAndre Yedlin is leaving Newcastle to join Galatasaray, confirmed. Contract set to be signed until June 2024. Deal expected to be completed tomorrow as per @tomhamiltonespn. #gala #nufc #transfers"

DeAndre Yedlin’s contract was due to expire in the summer and was allowed to negotiate with foreign clubs to leave on a Bosman transfer. Though he was assured of regular first-team appearances at St. James’ Park, there was no positive news for the player regarding a contract extension.

The US right-back joined the “Toon Army” in 2016/17 for a sum of €5.9 million from Tottenham Hotspur. Since his arrival, he has featured in 112 games across all competitions for Steve Bruce’s side.
