Liverpool to go all-out for a center-back
The Merseysiders have struggled to keep up the ante in the 2020/21 season as they lost their defender Virgil van Dijk to a long-term injury.
After the injury to their monumental player, Liverpool started to succumb to defeats slowly. At the moment, Liverpool have no fit senior center-back at their disposal and could go all-out on the final day.
According to recent reports, Liverpool have spoken to multiple defenders ahead of the deadline day.
Jurgen Klopp is in talks with defenders including Arsenal outcast, Shkodran Mustafi. They fielded the 12th defensive pairing in the heart of defense on Sunday against David Moyes’ West Ham United.
He said:
"And it is not that I say by the way, a centre-half would be really nice and they say wow, a centre half, really, why? So it is not not like this. It is all clear. It is all on the table. We work on that, you can imagine. But I cannot spend the money. I don’t make these decisions. There are people who are responsible for the whole thing, and I cannot make their decisions. I am not a five-year-old kid any more and if I don’t get what I want I start crying. (Via: Goal)"
Jurgen Klopp had mentioned that he would like to sign a defender because of the ongoing injury crisis at Anfield. However, he downplayed by saying he wouldn’t cry like a 5-year-old if the management fails to get him the required player.
Ben Davies from Preston North End is the CB on his way to Anfield.
