Jack Wilshere is returning to AFC Bournemouth for a second spell

While at the Emirates, the North London club felt it was best to send him out on loan during the 2016/17 season, following a long injury layoff. He suffered a hairline fracture in his left fibula which kept him out for a large part of the campaign.

He played 142 minutes in the Premier League, starting once out of three games for the Gunners and because of this he was shipped out and docked on the south coast at the Vitality Stadium. It was his longest injury-free run, ironically. He completed 27 games, started 22 of the 27, and added two assists to his name.

Just him playing regularly was a golden reward for Eddie Howe. Now, moving four years on and before making the Cherry announcement, Jack Wilshere was training with the club but wasn’t registered to a football team.

"Bournemouth were hesitant to make a move with funding being a major issue. Thankfully, the club  found a way to strike a deal with him and have contracted him till the end of the season. (Via: theathletic.com)"

He, manager Jason Tindall and the club will be hoping he hits the ground running and he can have an injury-free campaign in order to help them get back to England’s top-flight. They currently sit third in the EFL Championship standings and are eight points off first-placed Norwich City.

Do you think Bournemouth will return to the Premier League next season? Will Jack Wilshere stay injury-free?
