Nothing changed as a Hammer while at the London Stadium for Jack Wilshere.

In his maiden campaign with West Ham United in the 2018/19 season, he featured as little as eight times and then followed that up with another eight in the next campaign.

He started as little as six games during his two-year stay in East London. He suffered from two injuries detrimental to Hammers’ career – an ankle injury which required ankle surgery and later on a groin injury.

The ankle injury occurred September 2018 followed by a must-op on his ankle in December of that same year. The latter setback took place in October 2019. His time on the sideline amounts to about 356 days – another nine more days and that would amount to a year out injured. Staggering stat!

David Moyes felt it was time to let go of the injury-prone midfielder. The club and manager believed his £100-a-week salary could be put to better use and by mutual consent decided to terminate his deal.
