Mauricio Pochettino edges closer to PSG job and Spurs’ players are set to follow
It is all but confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino will be named the new boss of Paris Saint-Germain after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.
As early as December 24 it was announced that Mauricio Pochettino’s legal aid was in discussions with the Ligue 1 serial winners, Paris Saint-Germain, to take over from the outgoing Thomas Tuchel.
Following the official sacking of the German from PSG, Poch is now in advance talks and already Spurs’ players are being linked with an exit from North London and rumoured to join forces with the Argentine in France. It is only a matter of when and not if he will join, for the ex-Tottenham boss.

His PSG move will open up a new door of opportunity for players who used to thrive under his guidance while in England. Players who are currently looking for other avenues to resurrect their dying careers.
Those who could follow their old boss to France is Dele Alli, Serge Aurier, Lucas Moura and Tanguy Ndombele. Another possible transfer is ex-Spurs’ midfielder Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan. He has found life under Antonio Conte quite difficult, failing to impress and ultimately becoming surplus to requirement at the San Siro.
Alli is almost a no-brainer considering he has been linked with the Ligue 1 giants in previous windows. Furthermore, he has only started one Premier League game for Jose Mourinho this season – with him only able to put together four EPL features. The only reason he is still a Tottenham midfielder, Daniel Levy blocked his move to Le Parc des Princes.
"Alli has long been a transfer target for PSG having failed with three separate loan offers for the attacking midfielder in the summer.Sportsmail revealed earlier this month that the Ligue 1 club were preparing to return for Alli next month believing Tottenham are finally ready to let him leave. Serge Aurier was a Paris boy and appears he will always be one for the rest of his life. That’s per the player’s account. He has expressed his love for the club and a return could be on the cards. Aurier showed Lucas the way from Paris to London when he joined in 2017.
Moura, signed by Poch in January 2018 from Paris Saint-Germain, has also found his time on the pitch cut down significantly by Jose and could find his way back to his old club.
All of these aforementioned outfielders were signed by Mauricio Pochettino so the possibility of them reuniting with their old boss is highly likely, especially Alli and Eriksen – the pair who seek new challenges after falling down the pecking order.
Adding to the heated Eriksen exit, Conte is said to be a big admirer of PSG’s Leandro Paredes and will discuss a potential Eriksen-Paredes swap deal with Inter’s board. The club has even stated that the Dane just hasn’t worked out as he doesn’t suit the Conte plan.

It is going to be busy January transfer window for Spurs with the outgoing expected to be more than the potential incomings, if there are any names on a Mourinho wish list.
