Burnley nears a £200 million takeover by Egyptian food magnate

Burnley have struggled a lot because of the pandemic. It is not only a story of theirs post-pandemic but that of many institutions around the globe.

Many clubs who usually end up in the bottom half of the table have struggled to keep themselves upbeat at the start of the season. The club’s revenue has been hit very badly because of the absence of fans, sponsorship issues, and the new Pay-per-view guidelines.

Though the gaffer was adamant about the talks of the takeover, he opined that there is a lot of scope for development at Turf Moor. He also believes that the club can grow and improve further in the top flight.

For a club like Burnley, the takeover can be a breath of fresh air. It will not only bring in new owners but will also bring in new sponsorship deals that can re-kindle the growth at Turf Moor for the Clarets.

There have been excellent performances and changes in the fortune of sides that were subjected to takeovers. The most successful example is Manchester City who have won three Premier League titles since their takeover in 2008.
