Jesse Lingard’s exit from Old Trafford has been high on the cards and Spurs was the rumoured club to hand him a way out.

The man who moonwalked at the Emirates was said to be wanted by his old manager Jose Mourinho at his new place of work, Tottenham. Consequently, Man United was said to be on board with a Jesse Lingard departure.

A few days ago following their dismal opener where they lost to Crystal Palace 3-1 at the Theatre of Dreams, Spurs were reportedly interested in taking Lingard off their hands and United was ready to listen to offers @ £27m.

Yet, this is not the case as of Tuesday in North London with Jose denying a linkup with a player who had great success on the pitch in his time as the Manchester boss. As per talkSPORT, the Portuguese manager made it crystal clear there is ‘no chance” of it transpiring.

"‘No chance’ Manchester United midfielder joins Spurs and Jose Mourinho not interested in transfer.Tottenham will not be signing Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard this summer, according to reports. There had been rumours over the weekend saying Spurs boss Jose Mourinho was interested in a reunion with the England International, whom he coached while manager of Man United. The player has become surplus to requirements and has been isolated to a bench role, limited to a handful of starts. The Manchester club has been looking for suitors for Lingard and others who are out of favour since the window opened.

But like business is being delegated slowly for incomings so is the business mould for outgoings. Spurs link comes as no surprise, considering that Dele Alli has been strongly connected with a summer exit from London.

Mourinho has welcomed four new faces to the club and is said to be in the market for some more names. A backup striker was mentioned since the start of the summer and another midfielder and defender also being named.
