Manchester United are tipped to win the race for Real Madrid defender, Sergio Reguilon.

Man United could make Sergio Reguilon their second summer signing but are far from acquiring the player’s signature. As things stand, no official bids have been submitted with the asking price set at €30 million by La Liga champions Real Madrid.

They are also keen to insert a buy-back clause for the 23-years-old. They rate him highly but would like to see him develop further elsewhere and get much-needed minutes on the pitch, instead of staying put and wasting away on the bench at the Bernabéu.

The Old Trafford board is reluctant to agree to this buy-back clause and are unwilling to meet the full asking price of €30m, which could see them reach an impasse in the deal. The player has made it perfectly clear that United is his preferred destination despite him spending a season with Sevilla and achieving great success by taking the Europa League crown.

This gives them a strong hand in negotiations. Since Reguilon simplified his decision, Los Nervionenses has turned their attention elsewhere. Goal reports they’ve signed FC Porto’s Acuna, wasting no time at all and in a bid to be ready for the next campaign.

Talks are still ongoing between Real Madrid and Man United and we could see an agreement reached soon. Time is not a luxury and funds a requirement if Real are going to doing any shopping this summer.

This does declare that fullbacks on the fringe at Old Trafford must find other clubs sooner rather than later if they don’t want to be caught on the bench, further behind in selection when Ole’s preferred choices are acquired.

Diego Dalot has been linked with moves to other Premier League clubs and moves abroad, PSG being the most dominant of the links along with Everton. One signing for the Manchester club will not cut it going into the new campaign with Champions League football included.
