Manchester United reach breakthrough in negotiations to sign Jadon Sancho from Dortmund
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could finally attain his long-term target as positive signs emerge around Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United overcome the stalemate around the agent fees and personal terms for Jadon Sancho. There are optimistic developments but a few stumbling blocks still exist, such as agreeing on transfer fees with Borussia Dortmund, remain before the deal can be pushed over the finishing line.
Sancho is among the most promising youngster in Europe, since his move to Borussia Dortmund in 2017. In 78 Bundesliga appearances, the England international has managed 30 goals and 38 assists. Last summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to bring the 20-year-old to Old Trafford but the player decided to stay in Germany to continue his progress.
Twelve months later, Sancho is eager to test himself in the Premier League. Manchester United currently provides the best possible avenue to attain success in English football. So far, Man United officials have struggled to complete the deal as Dortmund counterparts stick to their €120million price tag even after taking the after-effects of the pandemic into account.

Despite the deadlock in negotiations, Ed Woodward and Matt Judge, Man United’s negotiator-in-chiefs, have remained determined to solve the issues regarding payment structures. The recent reports suggest a breakthrough has been made on Sancho’s personal terms and agent fees.
"Manchester United’s protracted pursuit of Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho has been given a boost after a breakthrough in the impasse over agents’ fees and wages.Sancho’s determination to push through a move before the close of the transfer window on October 5 has helped to break that deadlock and provided renewed hope of a deal. As promising as it sounds, a major hurdle remains for Manchester United, convincing Borussia Dortmund to accept a staggered payment structure. The Red Devils believe that paying €120million upfront is unfeasible in the current market and insists on including add-ons and instalments.
United remain confident of signing Jadon Sancho before the October 5 deadline passes. The officials believe that incentivised would convince Dortmund to part ways with the English prodigy.
