Official: Donny van de Beek signs for Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally attains his first summer signing.
Manchester United officially announce the signing of Donny van de Beek from AFC Ajax. The deal is worth €39million, including €5million in bonuses. It is understood that the Red Devils have beaten Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain to sign the Dutch midfielder.
Donny van de Beek has emerged as one of the brightest midfield prospects in Europe. Owing to his excellent work-rate and versatility, the 23-year-old formed an integral part of the Ajax side which caused major shockwaves in last year’s Champions League. After Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong moved on last summer, a move for Van de Beek failed to materialise.
