The Blues of Merseyside breaks the silence in the transfer market with their first capture of the summer.

Reunited! Carlo Ancelotti gets his Allan from Napoli for a fee said to be £21.7m (€25m) with a few added on extras worth £2.6m (€3m). After agreeing to personal terms with the midfielder, the player will travel to Merseyside for his medical and complete the final stages of the deal before being announced.

"Everton have agreed a deal with Napoli to sign Brazil international midfielder Allan for a fee of €25m (£21.7m), plus an additional €3m (£2.6m) in incentives, according to Sky in Italy. The 29-year-old has reportedly already agreed personal terms and is now expected to travel to Liverpool to undergo a medical. The Naples outfit is in need of sales as they look to recuperated funds to help balance the books, as well as collect funding to help buy players they feel they need at the club. Allen was a strong figure in the middle of the park under Ancelotti and the manager prior to that, Maurizio Sarri.

More from Everton

The Brazilian has a strong presence in the midfield and was a standout figure whenever Napoli played Liverpool in the Champions League group stages. He works tirelessly and frees up space for the next man, as well as being a good passer of the ball in the final third.

Once he has confirmed his move to Goodison Park he would have ended an eight-year spell in the Italian Serie A. Before enjoying his longest run of five terms in Naples he spent three seasons in Udine at Udinese.

Allan’s most successful campaign took place last season, where Napoli defeated Juventus in the Coppa Italia finals. He has made 262 appearances in his time in Italy. During this run, he scored 12 goals and assisted a further 33.

He will undeniably be adding quality to the Goodison Park club. Soon after they tire up the deal for Allan the Toffees should be roping in their second signing of the summer, James Rodriguez, who is said to be close to finalising his deal with talks progressing ever so well between them and Real Madrid.
