Dean Henderson is set to become one of the best-paid goalkeepers as he returns to Old Trafford.

The Englishman has surprisingly ended a two-year loan spell at Bramall Lane as a Blade. He helped Chris Wilder achieve amazing things in his time with the club and was set to stay for another season to maintain the great progress he has shown with the exceptional defensive unite the Blades possessed.

"I will look back at the last two years as an important chapter in my career… I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and develop with such a class group of lads. Henderson bids the Blades goodbyes"

What stopped another loan opportunity from progressing, the performances and form of David de Gea of late. It has forced Manchester United to keep one of the best goalkeepers of the 2019-2020 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have backed down on his previous comments regarding this goalkeeper dilemma.

He stated Dean Henderson was not ready to challenge de Gea for the number one spot, as well as the Spaniard being a far way off from being knocked off the thrown. Now the duo will battle it out for the number 1 spot, benefitting the club considerably.

More from Manchester United

One has been below average and has not been challenged for his starting role for several seasons. This has evidently brought forth complacency in David de Gea. The other keeper, getting praises for his outstanding performances in Sheffield United’s return to England’s top flight.

Henderson happy to stay

Dean is certainly not complaining or throwing a tantrum about not extending his stay at Bramall Lane. He is set to earn a damn lucrative contract with his owners Manchester. The club looks set to offer him £100k-per-week.

"Four months of talks are now closing in on a long-term deal which will be worth in excess of £100,000-a-week for the 23-year old – making him one of the best paid goalkeepers in world football. (Via: Sky Sports)"

At his age of 23-years-old, he will become one of the best-compensated stoppers in the game today. This showcase the only people losing out here are Sheffield. But they haven’t really shed a tear on losing a player they wanted for an extra season.

Nope, they have already added Bournemouth’s Aaron Ramsdale in a deal worth £18.5 million. Rapid work by the Blades’ board to act so fast in getting in a proper number one to take up the vacancy left by England’s potential number 1.
