The squad reshaping has begun for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer.

Manchester United’s first piece of transfer business is finished as youngster Tahith Chong completes a loan move away to Werder Bremen. During negotiations for a contract extension, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had promised regular game time to the Dutch youth international.

The 20-year-old was allowed to ply his trade in the Bundesliga, citing regular game time and a perfect environment to sharpen his skills during the 2020/21 campaign, thereby allowing maximum opportunities to Chong in a bid to gain a frequent first-team status at Old Trafford.

After a series of dialogues between the clubs, a final agreement was reached to allow the academy graduate to spend a solitary season on loan with the German side, contrary to Bremen’s desire of a two-year spell.
