The Toffees are hopeful of a European finish in the Premier League next season.

Carlo Ancelotti, one of the most accomplished football managers of all time, raised a few eyebrows when he decided to be a part of Everton – who have failed to match their ambitions with a lucid execution plan.

Despite investing a substantial amount of finances, Everton have failed to climb up the Premier League ladder due to a scattergun approach to the transfer market. Now, with a serial winner in Ancelotti taking over the proceedings at Goodison Park, the Toffees’ hierarchy would have to deliver this summer if they desire the former Real Madrid manager to work his magic.

As things stand, Everton are keeping their tabs on various top talents with a clear set of essentials chalked out by the management team. With an eye on the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes, Thomas Lemar, and others, the Blues would have to muster innovative deals to work in the current economic climate.

In addition to the aforementioned targets, Everton are monitoring the situation of Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot – who faces an uncertain future at the club – amid a string of injuries impeding him in claiming a stake for the starting spot.

The rise of Brandon Williams and Ethan Laird have pushed the Portuguese full-back behind them in the pecking order – led by Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw. Making matter worse, even Timothy Fosu-Mensah – who has suffered a long-term injury – has fought his way back into contention ahead of Dalot.

Manchester United’s last contest against LASK Linz could prove to be the final blow as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer omitted the player completely from the matchday squad, with no prior injuries being reported by the club.

Bought for £20million, Everton is hopeful of striking a deal for nearly half of what Manchester United paid Porto for the services of Diogo Dalot. Previously, the Portugal youth international has attracted interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

In the midst of a recycling phase themselves, Manchester United are prepared to cull a number of superstars this summer with defenders Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo placed high on the selling list by the bosses.
