Turn your attention this way – Its time to conclude the Champions League

Like most of the league campaigns barring one, most of the Champions League tournament has been settled.

The cup just came short of wrapping up the round of 16 phase as we witnessed previous European champions and current Premier League winners, Liverpool, get knocked out of the tournament by Atletico Madrid.

Only one half got through their second-leg fixture with this in mind. These teams waiting for the rest to finish up are RB Leipzig, Atalanta, Atletico, and PSG. This tetrad of UCL contenders were all triumphant in their second leg.

Those who play first and must complete their playing affairs from the round of 16 are as follows;

 Weekend’s games (August 07)

Juventus vs. Lyon (Agg 0-1)
Manchester City vs. Real Madrid (Agg 2-1)
Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea (Agg 3-0)
Barcelona vs. Napoli (Agg 1-1)

Once completed it’s onto midweek action, probably the only factor normal about all of this. The European hierarchy has sped things up and made sure there is no waiting between the incomplete round and the outstanding ones.

They’ve gone ahead and done the draw for the remainder of the tournament. It’s now only for the teams to win and move on or lose and pack up.
