Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton in Monday night action. The best bits coming halftime.

The final instalment of Matchday 33 saw Spurs welcome the Toffees in Monday Night football. The game was pretty much balanced and concluded with the expected scoreline of one goal to nothing.

The pair were relatively matched in shots taken and ball possession. It was predicted the final game of the matchday would be boring. If it wasn’t for Hugo Lloris and Heung-Min Son, there would be almost nothing to write about.

More from Everton

The single goal is the most exciting event to take place on the pitch, but it was off the pitch that made headlines. Heading into halftime with Tottenham leading, the Spurs’ captain was left furious that his side almost conceded before the halftime break, due to Son being dispossessed and doing nothing about it.

The stopper ran over to his striker and made his feelings heard. Heated discussions ended with other Tottenham players having to separate them from each other. After the came out, they got on with things and made up after the 90 minutes of football was complete.

Jose’s reaction? Expected. How do the players look to him after this? Like they actually care and still hold loads of passion for what they doing on the field. Did everything work out for the best then? Yes, it did!

Spurs after the result

After the result, Spurs move into eighth place in the Premier League standings, keeping the pressure on their North London rivals and Wolves. Jose’s men now sit one point behind Arteta’s men and three behind Nuno’s.

A great way to bounce back after a humiliating defeat to Sheffield United, who they are now ahead of after their Monday night victory. They go up against a team fighting for survival, Bournemouth next. They should be taking all the points from this.

Everton not too bad

Everton was one of two clubs still unbeaten since the restart of Premier League football. The other being Man United. There is nothing left to play for the Merseyside outfit. All Ancelotti will be doing now is seeing who fits his profile going into next season and who needs to be shipped out.

They sit in 11th place, sitting exactly where they were sitting before the loss. Their next match is against a Southampton team who is oozing confidence and are considered the giant humblers.
