Angel Gomes refuses to extend his contract at Old Trafford and is looking to move on for better first-team opportunities.

Man United stands the risk of losing their potentially world-class youngster, Angel Gomez. As per the evening standard, Gomez has a deal on the table for 30k-per-week. He has refused to sign it and at the moment the way things are looking, he will leave the Old Trafford club.

"Yet Gomes appears destined to depart. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s negative tone when discussing the 19-year-old on Monday spoke volumes. United have tried to convince the playmaker to wait for his chance. An offer believed to be worth in excess of £30,000-a-week has been put on the table for a player who is still to make a Premier League start. More from Manchester United

The evening standard claims the 19-year-old is ready to run down the same path as Paul Pogba and others who have left United at a young age to go and seek regular first-team football. We’ve seen it work out successful with not only United players but ex-Man City player, Jadon Sancho.

His best move in the history of his early career was to take leave from Man City, even though Pep Guardiola was at the club. He made a name for himself on the big stage in Germany in the Bundesliga and made a name for himself in the Champions League. Nothing suggests both he and BVB made a bad decision.

Ole not happy

But of course, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to hate the fact the player doesn’t want to take a pay rise and stay for a longer period. Coming up from the academy is the United way and what he loves to do is bring the young boys up.

Also judging by his ability and the amount of promise he shows, they know or foresee him becoming a world-beater somewhere else, something any club would hate seeing. In his time at the club, his only made five Premier League appearances since 2016.

This could be a major factor in his decision. There is no way Man Untied can offer and guarantee he will start in the Premier League, week in and week out. These young players show less loyalty and more ambitions to go and play abroad to try to develop their craft a lot faster than those before them
