The 2018/2019 Season

The loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final was still fresh. It left a sour a taste in the mouths of all of the fans, especially just thinking about the errors of Loris Karius and that tackle Sergio Ramos made on Salah.

One thing they that came from this is that Liverpool was feared, knowing that teams had to face the likes of Salah, Mané and Firmino not knowing, however, that one right-back with the name Trent Alexander-Arnold would be rated one of, if not, the best right-backs to date.

Alexander-Arnold made 12 assists while his left-back counterpart Robertson almost matched that tally with 11 assists, Salah and Mané scored 22 goals apiece, sharing the golden boot with Aubameyang.

With the addition of Fabinho and Naby Keita Liverpool had now one of the most complete teams in the world. Competing on all fronts, Liverpool had brought home the Champions League trophy, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup setting the bar high for all EPL clubs to follow.

No English club has completed the international club treble after picking up the trio of cup awards. The Reds finished 2nd in the domestic league with 97 points just 1 point behind Man City in 1st place with 98.
