The Man United boss says Dean Henderson is about to achieve great things in the near and far future in his football career.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the Sheffield United on-loan stopper has booked his place as England and Man United’s number one for the future after a stellar Premier League debut with the club. David de Gea must be extremely worried about his first-choice spot at Old Trafford after these words of praise for what will become his direct competition.

"Dean has made some great choices over the years and has developed fantastically. We’re looking at that in terms of where he’s going to be next season, but as yet that has not been decided. This season has proved a great experience for him, he’s done himself some favours with his performances, and proved he will be England’s No 1 and Man United’s No 1 at some point."

Henderson’s time at Sheffield United

Both the Bramall Lane side and the United player on-loan, Henderson, has been the surprise package of the 2019-2020 Premier League campaign. They have not only secured a top-flight stay for next season but have also managed to find themselves fighting for European power. Totally overshooting their projection and overachieving tremendously.

The young goalkeeper has put on a valent show in his maiden Premier League campaign. Ha has not only kept more clean sheets than the Spaniard from Manchester but has helped the Blades brag the right to call themselves the second-best defensive team in the Premier League.

Ole is no caretaker anymore

More from Manchester United

The boss has spoken and lets it be known, nows the time you earn your salary and game time at Old Trafford. If you can’t put into action what he want’s the bench is calling your name. He has already made it clear it is not his “job to keep players happy”. Players must perform to prove they are worthy of the jersey, including the spot.

"It’s not my job to keep the players happy or in the team or out of it. Part of it is their responsibility of performing and doing well. “Dean has made some great choices over the years and developed fantastically – and still is. (Via: Sky Sports)"

David de Gear stats 2019-2020

Next season

I wouldn’t blame Henderson for wanting to stay longer at Sheffield. The team has been doing great and look far from done. They have made some great acquisitions and are ready to take on the next phase in their upbringing under Chris Wilder.

The only person that must pick up the slack is David de Gea. He was not too long ago considered the best in the business. But he has forced the manager to talk openly about what’s at stake once the club moves into the next stage of the Ole era.
