The first player that comes to mind is Tammy Abraham. He’s had a promising first season in the top flight for Chelsea, scoring 13 goals and adding four assists. His best form came in the early months, where he had a three-game stretch where he scored seven goals, including a hattrick at Wolverhampton.

He’s since calmed down, however, with six goals and four assists in the next 19 league games he would start in. He also has two Champions League goals to his name, with both coming in the group stage games against Lille.

Being his first season with Chelsea’s first team, he was never expected to keep up the form he had in August and September. With Werner coming, however, Abraham may need to add to his tally when the season continues. The two can coexist, as Werner can play on the left and let Abraham keep his spot down the middle.

Alternatively, if Werner is going to be the main scorer for the team, it may be more beneficial for Lampard to go with a more creative player on the left and let Werner play through the middle. He has shown he can play well in either role, so the end to this season could prove to be the deciding factor on how the next season is started.
