The day they lost their treble and now cannot be mentioned in the same class as the United of 1998-99.

After the loss, a bounce back to the usual ruthless Reds was on the cards. Funny enough, the joke was on us. The Reds took on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a chance to keep the treble dream alive.

But Frank wasn’t haven’t that now was he! The Blues from the Bridge hosted the Reds from Merseyside in what was a cup revenge match. A 2-0 scoreline on the night during the midweek encounter was enough to see a team winning everything insert the second link in what would be a chain reaction to losing everything.

How would a team fighting so hard for everything available to them be able to return to winning ways, and achieve that monster mentality? Well, they all did except one player.
