Probably one of the biggest turn arounds in recent times is Paul Pogba’s rumoured desire to stay with the Manchester club. According to reports, sources close to the player hints he could resign with the club.

Pogba is the talk of Manchester once again, but this time in a good light. The player is said to have taken a massive u-turn on his stance and has gone from wanting to leave indefinitely, to wanting to extend his stay in England, surprisingly.

A move to Real Madrid to work with idol Zidane was hot on the cards. As was a move to old club Juventus a preferred destination. Now it appears both those moves could become a thing of the past and a new agreement for the player to sign an extension might be on the table.

Pogba contract said to be in place

The deal on the table is rumoured to make the Frenchman one of the highest-paid players in the world. He could earn a salary of £400k per week with the club he was so eager to leave.

Paul is already on £290k p/w and is contracted till 2021 with an option to extend by another year. United will excise this right to extend with recent news in favour of this.

If this transaction goes through, he will overlap teammate David de Gea (£370k per week) as the highest earner in the club and the Premier League.

The good times

It doesn’t give the midfielder a good look considering the timing of the news. The Old Trafford faithful and some United legends have already given up on him and would prefer him to move away from the club.

However, one cannot help but think what a midfield selection of Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, and Fred would implement on the pitch. Ole’s been pulling the right strings and has side’s good form showing in their table presence.

United has collected 45 points before the suspension of the Premier League, harbouring fifth place, and are only three points off Chelsea’s 48. The feels have been so good at Old Trafford and Pogba appears to be unable to keep his distance.

Next. It’s Timo time for Liverpool. dark

Nothing decided and the question still stands… Resign him to a new long-term deal? Or sell and replace him with a player who wants to be at the club? The latter has been proven more fruitful, judging by the performances of Fernandes and Odion Ighalo.
