Everton reinvigorates European hopes – Carlo Ancelotti is the resuscitator
The celebrations are jubilant but at the same time are contained. Everton cannot get carried away as there is much to improve on and many battles to still overcome.
The victory over the weekend puts Carlo’s side back in seventh place of the Premier League ranks. The table’s movement between the relegation slots and mid-table has been so frequent if you blink for more than a second, you could have missed three teams going from top to bottom.
The next four encounters for Everton and Ancelotti are unkind to him, and a test that will see him face direct battles for the European places he is after. They are five points off Chelsea’s top-four spot, a flawless showing and they could be the best team for the second half the campaign.

Wins against all of these sides besides the leaders Liverpool will class them in the top-four indefinitely. A win against their neighbours will mean so much more on so many levels if they can pull it off.
The next Merseyside derby
A win at Goodison Park. Is there any more explanation needed for the type of elation this club will feel? If they win each of their next four, which includes Klopp’s Liverpool, they will then confirm their place in the Champions League.
They will also be the first, and perhaps could be the only team to beat them in what’s looking more likely to become their (Liverpool) undefeated campaign. Any team who beats the Reds deserve to be in a UCL spot, especially if you bounced back from a start such as the Blues of Merseyside have endured.
There is everything to play for and this proves once again, you must always play to the final whistle. The final whistle of the half, match, and the season, and you will be surprised the rewards you will receive.
