Newcastle has wasted no time and lured want-away, Danny Rose, to St. James Park. The question is, was it the right move for all the parties involved.

For Jose Mourinho and Spurs it was only a matter of when and not if they were going to get rid of him. A player who doesn’t work his socks off for the team is as good as gone under the guidance of Jose.

So there was no surprise Danny Rose was on his way out of favour at Tottenham. Before being publically named with Newcastle the narrative stayed the same for the fullback, and that was his parent club were unwilling to renew his contract come to the end of the season.

For Danny it’s Rosy

More from Newcastle

A fresh start never killed anybody. Well, quite frankly, it has sometimes ended football careers. For the Englishman, he will be hoping for a better outcome and has positively made a good decision.

Backtrack, way up your options, and execute a plan. This is what some players need to consider doing when playing in Europe’s toughest league. The player has endured a rocky time at the club and has publically thrown them under the bus in certain interviews.

One he is most notorious for is when he claimed he doesn’t understand why his club [Spurs] sign all these no-name signings. He has no idea who they are and has to Google search who they are each time they are announced.

This, plus other speeches by the player has not exactly made him famous around the Tottenham faithful but rather infamous among them. It was surely time for a change.

"I am not saying buy ten players. I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, Who’s that? I mean well-known players.I’ve seen a couple of players previously saying, We don’t need a top signing or signings. But I am sorry, I am not singing off the same hymn-sheet on that one.I think we do need one or two top signings to strengthen the squad. I’m just not buying the idea that we don’t need anyone. Is Newcastle the right choice?

The Magpies have really had a surprise campaign. So much so, Top Flight contributor, Keith Lisenbee has voted Steve Bruce as his manager of the year. With what big Bruce has accomplished this season, it’s not a bad shout.

Check out his full post here and decide if you feel the same: Steve Bruce for Premier League Manager of the Year Award. What’s not good, he goes against everything he stands for. A Sunderland boy joining their biggest rivals, Newcastle.

If he had any love from the people back home before the move, it’s all gone now. However, game time is needed and a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad is up for grabs. That and the man needs to make money.

This is his job and sometimes your job/career requires you to step outside your comfort zone. This way he will get regular football in England’s Top Flight and stand a great chance of making the EURO 2020 squad. A definite win, win for all the parties involved.
