Bruno Fernandes deal is dead! No playmaker transfer for Man United
What game is Man United playing? Okay, wait, better question… What games are Ed Woodward and the Glazers playing? This Bruno Fernandes transfer is needed as creativity and goals lack at Old Trafford.
Man United owners will not cough up the cash in the case of an emergency. As per reports, the club’s hierarchy will not budge with their offer after Sporting Lisbon added a £4.2 million [€5 million] bonus on the already high asking price of £42m [€50m].
"Manchester United’s initial offer of €50million for Bruno Fernandes has been structured around an unusual compensation clause contained in the Portugal international’s contract with Sporting. The Daily Record understands that Bruno and his agent Miguel Pinho are entitled to a payment of €5m should the Lisbon club receive a formal offer equal to or greater than the exact figure the English Premier club have proposed paying as a guaranteed transfer fee for the midfielder. The compensation must be paid regardless of whether Sporting ultimately agree to sell for the €50m. (Via: Daily Record)"
Man United heads into FA Cup action this weekend, where they travel to EFL League Two side, Tranmere. They travel back to the Merseyside shores where they just experienced one of their worst defeats this campaign.
Following the humiliating loss at Anfield to their oldest nemesis, they entertained a Clarets side ready to draw blood from wounded Red Devils. They went on to beat the home side [United] by another two goals with no reply.
No hiding for United the bad news is following them

After losing back-to-back games for the first time this season in their Premier League run, news broke that the Bruno Fernandes transfer collapsed. Not needed at a time like this, especially when goals are few and few between.
Hard to tell this story because of them recently running rampage over Norwich with a 4-0 win. However, accompanying comprehensive Norwich victory there are three losses where the Manchester club drew blanks in all of them.
Against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Burnley, they conceded six goals, scoring nothing in return. During those 90 minutes of football Solskjær’s men have taken 43 shots at goal and only 15 of those shots were on target. That’s an on-target shot ratio of 35%, and not forgetting a conversion rate of zero.
A stat not helping their goals is the number of assists they put in per game. United average 0.96 assists per game. Goals can come from anywhere over the pitch. Corners, free-kicks, solo goals, but if you lack creativity, your narrowing down most of those outlets.
Rashford out and still no names in
The problems will keep piling on for Ole Gunnar and the club. They have already lost their top goalscorer for the season to months of injury. That’s a massive outlet missing, and by the looks of results over the last few encounters, the most important key to their on-field success is out for the count.
Transfers are needed if they are to make any attempt for a top-four finish. They must chase the pack after such bad showings over the last two outings. If the month ends with nothing transpiring, United can start taking the big “L” for the season.
