In the midst of Man City’s exit from the title race, Leicester drives on and gives the impression they will be chasing Liverpool till the end.

It was a busy Sunday with four fixtures played out. Only two teams shared the spoils of the game while the other three encounters were gifted with a winner and a loser.

The biggest win of them all came at the end of the day and was far from a surprise. Besides the Foxes doing serious damage to the rest of the league while in the hunt for Premier League glory, Sheffield United march on through this campaign as the biggest surprise package.

Here is the Best of Sunday

Norwich 1-2 Sheffield United

A Premier League meeting of the promoted sides. Not only safe to say, one team has been far better than the next since joining The English Top Flight. It too can be mentioned, this result was going one way before it kicked off.

The Blades come in as one of the best teams from Matchday 16. Yes, they achieved one of the lowest wins this weekend, but they did their business while on the road. A 2-1 victory over relegation tenants Norwich.

Even with the one goal conceded United boast the third-best defensive side in the EPL this term (16 goals conceded). Third only to Leicester City (10) and Liverpool (14). They now sit in eighth place in the standings and have another promotion duel with Aston Villa next.

Aston Villa 1-4 Leicester City

Jamie Vardy adds a pair to his goal tally for the season as he leads the top scorer party with 16 goals. That 16 from 16 for the man from Leicester. He also handed the Foxes their eighth consecutive win.

They’ve now also scored two or more goals in 12 games this run under Brendan Rodgers. Sadly the best defensive line this season couldn’t keep out the single goal from Aston Villa put in by the main Villain, Jack Grealish.

With this victory, the Foxes extend their gap to six points between them and third-placed Man City, furthermore closes the gap between them and leaders Liverpool to only eight points. Leicester City along with Everton, Liverpool, and Tottenham, pulled off the best victories of Matchday 16.

Other results

Brighton 2-2 Wolves

What an event played out at the Falmer Stadium. First Brighton went down on home soil and then brought the score level. Then they went one better and took the lead.

After this, Wolves changed the scoreline one more time and for the last time of the match. A draw a true reflection of a well-contested Premier League match between Nuno and Potter.

Newcastle 2-1 Southampton

Newcastle did exactly what they were supposed to do and that was to take all the points from the matchup against the Saints. Steve Bruce‘s men are now three games without a loss and sit nicely in mid-table.

This Premier League has gone very much against the prediction tide and we are looking more and more likely to have a new club crowned as Premier League champions.
