Man City 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Not the ruthless, no mercy attack Shakhtar Donetsk has come accustomed to. Instead, a well-worked 90 minutes to keep their own Champions League hopes alive.

The home side was dominant, yes. Yet, nothing could come of it and a whole 45 minutes went by with no goals scored on either end of the pitch.

It wasn’t until the second half of the game when the first goal was put in. Midfielder İlkay Gündoğan put the Citizens ahead and the boys managed the game out almost to perfection.

Not long after his effort was cancelled and the team with the better chances on the night rightfully equalised, bringing forth an exciting ending to the game.

Sadly, a lot of sparring thereafter with no final or fatal blow. The score ended even, but the job was completed for the Etihad side.
