4. Nicolas Pepe – Winger

Yes, it’s true, Arsenal’s club-record signing Nicolas Pepe has failed to hit the ground running in the Premier League, and so far hasn’t been as good as many expected him to be. But many are mistaking this as Pepe playing poorly, which isn’t true in the slightest.

The Ivorian has shown his ability on many occasions for Arsenal already this season, and he might just be waiting for one single breakout performance in the Premier League before he really gets going. Of course, he is struggling with a serious lack of creativity behind him, but he has still managed to pick up a very respectable total of 3 goals and 4 assists in 15 games so far this season.

We are still yet to see the very best of Pepe, and once we do, he could very well finish the season higher up on this list.

3. Gabriel Martinelli – Striker

I don’t think anyone, even the player himself, thought that Gabriel Martinelli would make the impact that he has for Arsenal this season, which is his first in Europe. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who was playing for Ituano in the Campeonato Paulista last season, was brought into the club for a measly £6 million, and has already scored a whopping 7 goals in 9 matches for the Gunners, while adding 1 assist as well.

While he can play on the left-wing too, it has been his performances as a centre-forward which have caught the eye, and his aerial ability has been highlighted with some of the sensational headers he has scored as well. We have yet to see him given a serious opportunity in the Premier League, but for someone so young to be making such an impact in the Carabao Cup and Europa League is extremely impressive.

In fact, Jurgen Klopp even dubbed Martinelli as the ‘talent of the century’, albeit in an exaggerative manner.
