The Hare and The Tortoise

I actually managed to overtake the Tortoise with my personal team at the weekend, so that’s something I suppose!

They both finished on 48 (I may have forgotten to switch the Tortoise’s captaincy, or maybe it was a subconscious thing so I would get ahead again), but that meant returns from Sterling, Salah, Mount, Ederson and new signing Rashford for the tortoise (but no Leicester players).

Meanwhile, the Hare had Maddison but was let down by Aguero’s 1 point cameo and minimal returns elsewhere, although new signing Alonso did contribute a clean sheet as he was taken off before Burnley’s fight back.

There’s now an 80 point gap between the 2! We have 2 more weeks until the November international break so I will figure out an alternative set of rules for the Hare in that time because clearly taking the hits and chasing the points isn’t working as a strategy!

The Top Flight Mini-League

After a fairly poor few weeks, I’ve finally moved back into the top 100 of the league (this season clearly I need to follow my advice a bit better). We also have some change at the top of the table as Andrew Maclean’s ‘Alonso way to go’ overtook the previous leader. Andrew was also let down by Aguero’s cameo, but had David Silva, KDB, Alonso, Rico, Son and crucially Jamie Vardy up top! That brought in a strong 62 points pushing him into first.

I couldn’t find any 100 point scores in the league, but FPL Messiah must be very happy with the 92 points scored after hitting the wildcard button! The key decision was captaining Vardy but also helped by returns from the entire team except for Lundstram and Hudson-Odoi.
